Things to Do in Colorado: Denver Art Museum Offers Fun for the Whole Family

For those living in Denver and the Front Range, the Denver Art Museum is an amazing place to visit or maybe even get a membership and make visits a frequent thing. Some people have an idea that an art museum is a stuffy place that only those who already know and care about art can enjoy. But that couldn't be further from the truth with the Denver Art Museum. They do their best to offer hands-on exhibits for all ages, self-guided tours, and frequently changing exhibits so there is always something new to see. Here are several ways the DAM makes a trip to the museum fun for the whole family.

Activities for Kids

First of all, the DAM is free for kids everyday, until they are 18! This amazing provision from Scott Reimen and BellCo allows more access to art for children, whether they are coming with their families or on a school field trip. The museum provides a variety of games and activities to help them interact with the art as well. One example is a scavenger hunt looking for animals throughout the artwork on the third floor of the Hamilton Building.

Untitled Final Fridays

The DAM has your next date night or girls night covered with their Untitled Final Friday events on the last Friday of each month, January through October. The museum brings in local creatives to do performances, workshops, and out-of-the-ordinary tours. Get more personalized attention from curators and get to ask those questions you always wanted to ask.

There are so many more ways to enjoy the Denver Art Museum. From watching live demonstrations in the 3D Studio to hearing lectures from professionals in the art world, there are lots of ways to interact with the art. Being close to the Denver Art Museum is just one of the perks of living in Denver. If you are looking for a Denver or Colorado home, contact us today at Team Lassen.
