Catch a Concert or a Movie This Summer at One of Denver's Favorite Venues!

Colorado is well known for all of its outdoor activities, but sometimes you want to be able to enjoy our state's natural beauty without breaking a sweat. Whether you're a music lover, a movie buff, or just looking for some local flavor, you'll love attending a concert or watching a favorite flick at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Live Concerts at Red Rocks

Red Rocks has long been a favorite concert venue for Coloradoans, and is even nationally known as one of the best outdoor venues. The amphitheater is naturally occurring, and may have even been used by the Ute Indians long before Denver started using it for concerts in the early 20th century. If you haven't had the pleasure of listening to live music in this naturally occurring amphitheater, be sure to check out their concert lineup, ranging from symphonic to metal and everything in between. No alcohol may be brought in, but drinks can be purchased onsite.

Film on the Rocks

You may have been to a concert at Red Rocks, but never a movie. If laid-back local entertainment and a favorite movie under the stars sounds like more your style, you'll love Film on the Rocks! Every year, Film on the Rocks features a lineup of recent favorites and cult classics. You may have seen these movies before, but you've never seen them like this, with Ship Rock and Creation Rock rising on either side of you and the lights of the city spread out below you. Gates open at 6:30 pm, and every movie is prefaced with live local music and a local comedian, starting at 7 pm. The movie doesn't start until dusk, so that gives you plenty of time to get settled and eat if you've brought a picnic dinner! Click here to see this year's lineup for Film on the Rocks.

Planning

Film on the Rocks tickets are $15 per movie when purchased ahead of time online (more at the gate). Tickets for concerts vary in cost but can sell out quickly, so buy them as soon as possible! The best-kept local secret is to arrive early, so that you can more easily find parking (which is free!) and be one of the first in line when the gates open. Don't forget to plan ahead so you have time to catch some dinner at one of the amazing restaurants in Morrison beforehand, or pack a picnic dinner and snacks to enjoy during the entertainment!
