How to Create the Best Curb Appeal: Sell Your House with These Simple Steps!
Posted on Jun 06, 2016If you're looking to sell your house, you already know that one of the most difficult things to do is to make it look good from the curb without spending a fortune. But did you know that you can design, literally, on a dime (or maybe a few dimes)? These little tips and tricks on creating the best curb appeal for your house will make all the difference between selling your home and leaving it on the market for months.
- Do something with the front door. Adding a bold splash of color to the front door will make it stand out from the rest, especially in terms of curb appeal. The most popular front door color is red, but you can certainly do something else that's more in line with the color scheme of your house (yellow and blue also seem to work very well).
- Replace all the old hardware. Sometimes, a simple thing such as replacing the doorknobs and house numbers can make all the difference between the house looking amazing and the house looking shoddy.
- Outdoor lighting, especially if it illuminates a gorgeous stone pathway or concrete, does a world of wonders for curb appeal. You can get some decent outdoor lighting from Home Depot or Lowe's, and this small investment will give you a big return.
- Finally, but certainly no less importantly, don't forget to include your mailbox in your quick curb appeal makeover. A dingy, dirty mailbox that's falling apart will do nothing to increase the curb appeal of a house...but a clean, neat, brand new mailbox will work wonders!
